Care Guide

Our clothing is handmade using a variety of recycled materials such as recycled blankets, recycled hand embroidered clothing, recycled wall art and rare recycled carriage shades which are up to 80 years old. Our materials are high quality and breath nicely which means that you do not need to wash them often, if at all (just like winter coats and jackets).

If you do find yourself needing to clean your Modern Societies, please be sure to read the care instructions on each individual item you purchase to help ensure each piece is kept in its freshest condition.

How to wash Modern Societies clothing handmade out of recycled blankets

• To keep in its best condition, we recommend dry cleaning (like a blanket)
• You can also put these pieces on a cold machine wash however they may change shape over time
• If you machine wash, wash on its own
• Put on a quick delicate wash cycle
• Use a chemical free laundry detergent
• Dry flat out of direct sunlight to help keep the colours bright
• Do not wring
• Do not tumble dry 
  
  

How to wash Modern Societies clothing handmade out of recycled embroidered materials

• Stay away from bonfires in these ones as they can only be spot cleaned
• Use a clothing anti-odor spray or turn inside out to hand wash under the arms
• Do not dry clean
• Do not machine wash
• Do not tumble dry

We’ve had our Modern Societies clothing for several years and have never needed to wash.
